The rock opera band, The Protomen, has finally announced the long-awaited conclusion to their Mega Man-inspired trilogy with the full release of "Act III: This City Made Us" scheduled for January 9, 2026, nearly 17 years after the release of Act II: The Father of Death. Recognizing the intense anticipation from fans, the band is employing an episodic, drip-feed release schedule on Bandcamp, distributing one or two new tracks weekly starting in early October 2025 until the full album drops physically and digitally. This final installment is expected to resolve the canonical story of an oppressed, Orwellian city ruled by Dr. Wily, continuing the band's signature blend of theatrical, Queen-esque rock opera with strong synth and metal influences. Tracks like "The Calm," the new mix of "Hold Back The Night," and the homonimous "This City Made Us" are already out, showcasing once again what the group is capable of.
